DESE Research incorporates both AI and Machine Learning (ML) technologies while developing Cybersecurity Science and Technology solutions for a variety of DoD customers. This includes evaluation of ML and Deep Learning models for optimized predictive analytics on large datasets, leveraging select ML techniques to predict software vulnerabilities within source code, and incorporation of Large Language Models (LLMs) for assimilation of data related to hardware and software supply chain illumination. DESE is also pioneering development and application of risk-based assessment methodologies to evaluate implementations of AI/ML technology within complex weapon systems and provide assurance such systems align with DoD and industry standards for responsible and ethical AI.
